Administrator/Principal’s Up-Date

 

ACSI Academic Meets:  MATH OLYMPICS

 

            Math is alive and doing well at Gateway CS.  Last Saturday, seventeen of our best math students from the third through the eighth grade competed against top math students from a half dozen other ACSI schools.  In the face of stiff competition, three of our students received awards.  Congratulations to these excellent Gateway math students for our first time at the Math Olympics:

                                        Chelsea Yost  3rd Place - 8th Grade Computation

                                        Luke Garcia  5th Place -  7th Grade Reasoning

                                        Mackenzie Keady 4th Place - 6th Grade Reasoning

            At the third grade level, students took three fourteen-minute tests, and students in the 4th-8th grades took four eleven-minute tests.  Our students were selected by their teacher for either the computation or reasoning (story problem) categories according to their math strengths.  The other Gateway students who competed are: 

                        3rd Grade:     Matthew Stahli, Rachel Wirtz and Olulani Oisaghie

                        4th Grade:     Hannah Martinez, Laynee Renslow, Dalton DeWitt and Addison                                                       Hughes

                        5th Grade:     Ashley Cannon, Tim Wirtz and Shane Garcia

                        6th Grade:     Jacob Campbell and Lauren Renslow

                        7th Grade:     (Luke Garcia as mentioned above)

                        8th Grade:      Josh Rogers, Kyle Hansen

            And also congratulations to our teachers in preparing and teaching our students: Mrs. Boice, Mrs. Zamora, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Wade! Well done students and teachers.  Gateway is proud of your accomplishments and participation!

Stanford 10 Test Week:   April 3-7

         All K-12th grd. students will be taking Stanford 10 Achievement  Test  Mon., April 3 through Friday, April 7.      

      It is very important that your child attends school during this week. Please do not schedule any vacations during this time. Our teaching staff thanks you for your consideration

Seamstress Needed

Parent with sewing talent is needed to make a custom fit cover for a new portable Library shelf unit for at the LH Campus. Please contact either office if you can help with this project
