Administrator/Principal’s Up-Date

Kudos I:    Gateway Math Program

Once again I am impressed at the excellent teaching going on at Gateway.  My case in point is illustrated by the success of the middle school math classes in the ACSI Math League competition.  I just received notification yesterday that our Gateway Pre-Algebra math class has taken first place in the Northern California Region!

In this ACSI academic meet, Mrs. Wade’s Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry students took four exams in their classrooms the week before Easter break.  The Pre-Algebra students distinguished themselves as a whole class by bringing in the highest math scores of all competing northern California schools. The students are: Isabella Avila, Ben Dettrick, Kyle Hansen, Tyler Helder, Cameron Koller, Stephanie Martinez, Adam Nelson, Corin Orejudos, Josh Rogers, Monica Sioson, Darcy Stickney, Alex Williams, Chelsea Yost, Ashley Davenport, Danielle Doty, Jeffrey Zamjahn, Christian Orejudos, Freddie Granados and Anthony Martini. And by Friday, these students will compete (in class) at the national level for the ACSI Math League Competition!  I am looking forward to seeing how they will do.  But in the mean time, let us all celebrate with these students their outstanding achievement and recognition.  I also commend all of our Gateway teachers from K-12 for also teaching math skills and concepts to these students in the younger grades.

Congratulations and well-done student and teachers!

Serving the Savior,

Mr. Stutzman
