“Celebration and Challenge”
With these two key theme words –
“Celebration & Challenge” - the
Gateway Board presented the Annual Meeting for parents Monday night. Couched with delightful humor and serious
candor, Gateway Board Treasurer, Emil Stahli, artfully guided the evening
agenda.
·
CELEBRATION: Recent blessings – the fact
that Gateway has stability, has acquired the 10-plex (10 modular classrooms)
and has re-located the K-2 and 10-plex modular units to the Lighthouse Campus –
just to name a few.
·
CELEBRATION: Recent steps of faith such as
hiring the new administrator, purchasing the 10-plex units, maintaining class
sizes and granting teacher bonuses and sending them to the ACSI Convention.
·
CELEBRATION: Paralleling Mark 12:30, Mr. Stutzman recounted Gateway’s obvious
academic, spiritual and PE/sports student successes this year.
·
CHALLENGE: To pray for 175+ students to enroll by
fall. Currently there are 140 students
enrolled. Mr. Stutzman asks everyone to
pray for 18 students yet to re-enroll, 7 students in process of enrolling and
for 10-20 new students yet to apply.
·
CELEBRATION: That since October 2005, Gateway now has a stable financial base after
months of monetary decline.
·
CHALLENGE:
For parents and friends of Gateway to fund the installation of the 10-plex
modular classrooms on the
·
CHALLENGE:
For four new parents to join the Board by July as John Renslow, Rachel Treff
and Emil Stahli (also Susan Hewlett who is moving) are stepping down from the
Board.
·
CHALLENGE:
For all Gateway parents and staff to demonstrate an even greater commitment to being
stewards of
Many thanks to the Gateway Board – Rachel Treff, Susan
