Financial Stewardship “101”
I wish
to thank all Gateway families who have consistently supported the ministry of
Gateway Christian School this year through their yearly and monthly tuition
payments. This is excellent financial stewardship that pleases the
Lord. Thanks to you families, Gateway
has experienced a year of financial stability.
This is not to say, however, that we have a great surplus, but since
October Gateway has been operating in positive cash flow position. We can all be thankful for what the Lord has
done through all our families this year.
Looking to the future, however, I want to up-date you about two scenarios
- immediate and long term – which will require good financial stewardship.
Immediate Financial Scenario: getting
through the July crunch during which there is no tuition coming in, but we
still have teacher salaries to pay.
In order to bolster our resources, may I suggest the following steps for
your consideration and action:
R For all families who pre-pay all of their
child(ren)’s tuition, pre-pay it in
July instead of August.
R For families who can do it, pay an extra
month’s tuition in June and/or July.
R Give an IRS tax deductible donation in
July.
Any of these steps would greatly help our July cash flow
needs. Thank you for whatever you can
do!
Long-Term Financial Scenario: getting the financial resources to
set-up the 10-plex (modular classrooms) currently stored on the Lighthouse
campus back field. The total cost
estimates range from
$275K-$400K. Possible funding of this
are listed on the enclosed sheet, but here are a few suggestions to consider:
R
Volunteer professional building services to install the 10-plex
R
Make Gateway a loan when the need presents itself.
R
Give a Building Fund designated (IRS tax deductible) donation
monthly.
I hope this information will spur you on to continue
excellent financial stewardship with
Mr.
Stutzman
