Administrator/Principal’s Up-Date

Short List

In any organization where there are people, occasionally a difficult situation or misunderstanding arises.  This is a given.  The same is true at Gateway.  In fact, there’s probably some issue somewhere in the school that comes up daily. As a Christian ministry, however, Gateway Christian School follows the principles of Matthew 18:15-18.  I encourage each of us to read this passage again to better understand how to deal with uneasy situations and events. In short, the Mathew 18 passage commands us to go directly to the person who is responsible for the matter or situation. Going to other people than the person responsible heads off in the wrong direction and probably ends up as a chain of gossip.  The difficult task for each of us is to first seek to understand the facts of the situation without a condemning attitude.  This is tough, especially when it has to do with our children. Ninety-five percent of school issues and concerns are mostly between you the parent and your child’s teacher. Occasionally, it is necessary to go beyond to me, the Administrator. I will assist in resolving issues but expect contact with the primary individual first.

As we move into the second half of this year, I want to ask all of us to keep our list of uneasy feelings, awkward situations and perhaps wronged relationships SHORT.  Please don’t let a list of these types of things accumulate.  Let’s all deal with them promptly:  (1) get the other side of the story, and (2) deal with it in a loving manner.    Keeping a very short list will go a long way to making Gateway Christian School reach its potential in the Lord.

Serving the savior,

Mr. Stutzman

Donation Request

The K-2 Campus is in need of rubber balls, basket balls, soccer

very much appreciated. Our current supply is getting low due to

wear and tear.  Donations are IRS tax deductible.

Tardy Reminder

All late students must pick up a tardy slip from the office

before going to their class. Please refer to page 8 of your

“Family and Student Handbook”, regarding tardy arrival.

Printer Needed

The yearbook class at the GH Campus needs a printer to

finish their layout work on schedule. If you have a network capable

laser (or ink jet) printer to donate, it will be gladly accepted. (IRS

tax deductible)

No IPODs, No Electronics

Students are not to bring any electronic devices to school. Please

refer to the GCS Family/Student Handbook paragraph on page

17 under “Prohibited Items.” (Cell phones may be brought to school for emergency use only, but not turned on.)

Instruments Still Needed

Wind instruments are especially needed.  You can leave her a

message at 634-0493.
